This is a photo of the Christmas tree at the Morris Family home at 128 Elm Street, Southampton. The year of this photo is 1892, during the holiday season on the 18th of December. The tree is decorated with ornaments, stars and angel figurines. The main figures of the photo (from left to right) consist of Grandma Corwin, her friend Mrs. Wells holding the child Wilton “Bill” Morris. Obscured in the back is Hazel Morris in a small chair next to her mother Henrietta. She sits next to her friend’s husband Mr. Wells. This photo is another example of George W. Morris' photographic craft in action, in which he would capture a variety of settings within not only Southampton, but even within his own home.
